July 7th, 2022 The Town of Islip’s Public Safety Division has been working with all Town departments to increase situational awareness among employees. Recently, full-time, part-time and seasonal employees throughout the Town’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs participated in two important staff training exercises- “Active Shooter Training” and “Stop the Bleed.”

July 1st, 2022 The new week-long Town of Islip wrestling camp came to a close this week, and earned rave reviews along the way. This was the first year for the camp, which was made possible through a partnership between the Town and Islip Kid Wrestling.

Supervisor Carpenter with Public Safety and Bike Patrol Unit

June 17th, 2022 The Town of Islip Public Safety Division launched its Bike Patrol Unit, the first of its kind in the Town. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter made the announcement after the Town Board approved the donation of two bicycles by Miller and Caggiano, LLP of Bohemia, as well as the purchase of two additional bicycles through the use of ARPA funding, making a total of four bicycles available to the Town’s park rangers and harbor patrol unit.

June 13th, 2022 The Town of Islip, together with the Suffolk County Sheriff's office, hosted a FREE Bike Rodeo at Islip Town Hall. Children learned safety precautions for riding bicycles; where to ride on the road; how to use hand signals; how to safely cross an intersection, and how to properly wear a bicycle helmet.
