September 19th, 2024 – Town of Islip employees dressed in purple to bring attention to New York State Overdose Awareness Day, September 19th as well as to shine a spotlight on September, National Recovery Month.

September 4th, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by members of the Islip Town Board and elected officials on the federal, state, county and local levels for the 6th annual "Islip Goes Purple" event held Wednesday, September 4th at Town Hall, kicking-off with a Color Fun Run and the lighting of the Town Hall cupola purple.
