– Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a transformational $150 million investment to connect the Long Island Rail Road’s (LIRR) Ronkonkoma Station with the proposed North Terminal at MacArthur Airport, significantly improving accessibility and enhancing the region’s transportation infrastructure.

– The Islip Town Clerk's office facilitated a record number of US Passport applications in January 2025, processing a total of 737 new applications, compared to 238 new applications in January of 2024. The Clerk's office also saw a sharp increase in passport applications for the month of December 2024, processing 514 new applications versus 169 in December of 2023.

– Governor Kathy Hochul, the Department of State and Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter today announced the completion of a $13.7 million sewer infrastructure project along Carleton Avenue in downtown Central Islip as part of the community's Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

– Long Island MacArthur Airport officials welcomed Trisko, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever-Labrador mix to the airport family this week. Trisko and his partner, Suffolk County Police Officer Eric DiPrima are assigned exclusively to Long Island MacArthur Airport. Trisko was donated by Canine Companions and recently completed three months of training in explosives detection.
