ISLIP, NY – This month, the Supervisor and members of the Town Board proudly celebrated a few extraordinary individuals in our community in honor of Italian Heritage month. These honorees embody the spirit of service, generosity, and dedication, all qualities that leave a lasting impact on our Town.
Lorraine and Michael Pace, Louis and James Bruno, Bruce Fabrizio, Greg “Gio” Giannotti, and Guy Leggio were all recognized for their commitment to Islip.
Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter is also being recognized for her achievements in public service and background as a first generation Italian-American by New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli. The Ceremony, which will take place at the Italian American Museum in New York City will recognize prominent Italian-Americans from across our great State. Honorees include: Monsignor Hilary Franco (Prelate of his Holiness, Advisor to the Permanent), Biagio Isgro, Jr (NYS OSDIA), Vincent Pitta (Pitta LLP), Thomas Quackenbush (Teamsters Local 294), and Angelo Vivolo (National Columbus Heritage Coalition).
“As a daughter of Italian Immigrants, I am so proud of my heritage and background,” said Supervisor Carpenter. “Italian Americans have contributed greatly to our Country, especially here in the State of New York, and I am proud to have the opportunity to recognize and honor those who have given back to our Islip, and State community.”
