A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

December 7th, 2022 "Christmas came a month early for one of our talented athletic teams here in Islip, as the Bayport - Blue Point Varsity Football Team, the Phantoms, took home its first Long Island Championship title just a few weeks ago on November 25th!," said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter at the December Town Board meeting.

Following an undefeated regular season, the Phantoms went on to sweep in their post-season games, securing an unprecedented 11-0 overall season record — a historic first for Bayport-Blue Point.

In the Championship game at Hofstra University, the Phantoms went on to defeat North Shore in front of a crowd of more than 2,500 by a final score of 35-7.

The Phantom’s stellar season is owed to the entire team… players both on and off the field. As well as the entire dedicated coaching staff.

Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, whose son Colin plays for the Phantoms, had the pleasure of congratulating the team. "You set your mind to achieving this dream, and you saw it through. Your community and your town are so proud of you," said Councilwoman Mullen.

"Please join me in congratulating, Long Island’s Division IV Champions, Bayport-Blue Points Varsity Football Team, the Phantoms!" concluded Supervisor Carpenter.
