A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

September 14th, 2022 This week, U.S. Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY-02) announced over $3 million in federal funding for Holbrook’s Main Street sewer project. The critical funding was secured as a Community Funding Project in the House of Representatives’ Fiscal Year 2023 appropriations bill, to advance a near-two-decade effort to secure sewer infrastructure in Holbrook. The project would span along Holbrook’s Main Street, creating jobs, and commercial, and residential development in Suffolk County and directly aiding in local economic development while protecting the environment on Long Island by reducing local reliance on cesspools.

September 9th, 2022 The Islip Fire Department Wolves Drill Team took the 2022 NYS Drill Team Championship title recently. The Drill Team serves as a training ground for the dedicated volunteers to apply the intense skillsets needed to protect and serve residents and the community during times of crisis. Volunteer firefighters plan, demonstrate and execute life-saving skills during meets, employing weighted dummies, ladders, motorized trucks and water equipment, to showcase the tactical elements and skills honed to protect and serve the community.

August 30th, 2022 The Town of Islip Public Safety Division launched its Bike Patrol Unit in May, the first of its kind in the Town. Through the initiative, rangers have the ability to patrol across the Town’s marinas and parks on bicycles, and through the Town’s corresponding ‘Boat, Dock and Ride’ initiative, harbor patrol units can now widen their presence in multiple Fire Island communities in just one stop.
