May 22nd, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Islip Town Board were joined by Town, County and local officials at the Town's Boater Safety Press Conference at the Bay Shore Marina. The annual event held before the extended Memorial Day holiday weekend, is designed to underscore and emphasize the importance of safe boating and swimming practices as residents begin to prepare their boats, pools and personal watercraft for a summer of recreation on the water.

May 10th, 2024 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter celebrated the achievements of six young students from across the Township who participated and won the 4th Annual Earth Day Poster Contest, co-sponsored by Reworld Waste, formerly Covanta. This year, nearly 180 students participated in the contest, utilizing their creativity to spotlight knowledge of recycling and share its importance throughout our community. Prizes included Barnes and Noble gift cards, Nook tablets and more, all provided by Reworld Waste. The winning posters are currently on display at Town Hall West in the DEC’s 3rd floor display case.

May 3rd, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with Girl Scout Junior Troop 230, 4th & 5th grade girls at Brettonwoods Elementary School, who are writing a book as part of their Bronze Award project. The students' project features women within the community who serve in roles traditionally held by men. As the first woman supervisor in the Town of Islip's history, the students selected Supervisor Angie Carpenter to be a part of their book documenting her milestone achievement.
