October 30th, 2019 – It was a special moment at Long Island MacArthur Airport Friday, when a heart transplant recipient met the donor’s daughter for the first time.
Long Island resident Raymond Miehl, 62, met Ashley Brayton of Ohio, who's father’s heart now beats in his chest, after she exited the gate from her Southwest Airlines flight.

November 8th, 2019 – Youth Enrichment Services has recently been awarded one of the top places to work by Newsday. The non-profit has been serving the Town of Islip and the surrounding communities since its founding in 1987, with a mission to serve and empower the youth and their families while creating a safe and healthy environment.
November 8th, 2019 – Gold Coast Bank hosted its "Annual Long Island Veterans Day" celebration on Monday, November 4 at its Islandia branch.
November 4th, 2019 – The Town of Islip's Division of Senior Citizens hosted its annual Fall Ball Monday. The sold-out event brought more than 200 residents together for an afternoon of dining and dancing. This is the first year the Fall Ball was hosted at Captain Bill's Restaurant in Bay Shore.
November 1st, 2019 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter today announced that the Town of Islip has been designated a Clean Energy Community by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), recognizing its leadership in reducing energy use, cutting costs and driving clean energy locally.
