A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

August 12th, 2020 The Islip Town Office of Economic Development will host a FREE Virtual Job Search Boot Camp for Town of Islip residents, consisting of a series of seminars taught by the professionals from Executive Consultants of New York, and designed to provide the strategies needed for a successful job search during COVID.

”We have held five previous Job Search Boot Camps and all were highly successful in placing applicants in rewarding jobs,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “Given the current unemployment crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Boot Camp will be the most critical of all,” said Supervisor Carpenter.

Participants will be instructed on the best job-search practices, including maximizing the use of social media, developing a professional network, interview tips, assistance with developing a personal brand, and resume and cover letter advice. The Virtual Job Search Boot Camp starts September 16, 2020.

“COVID has made the job market competitive, however there are jobs out there. Our FREE Boot Camp offers essential strategies to help you navigate your job search during these unprecedented times,” said Supervisor Carpenter.

Virtual classes will take place from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm on Wednesday, September, 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14, 21, 28 and November 4th.
