May 26th, 2022 – Suffolk County Police Department Marine Bureau officers joined with Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town of Islip Harbormasters during a press conference on Bay Shore’s Maple Ave. dock this week, to urge boaters to safely share the waterways and remind boat operators of the safety equipment required onboard a vessel while boating.
May 25th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined members and staff from the Caesar Trunzo Senior Center at a Disco Party recently.
Strobe lights and disco balls, reminiscent of the days of Manhattan’s iconic Studio 54, came to Brentwood to celebrate the 17th Anniversary of the opening of the Caesar Trunzo Senior Center. Prior to his service as a Senator, Caesar Trunzo served as a Councilman in the Town during the late 1960s into the early 1970s.
May 25th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter recently celebrated the 95th birthday of longtime West Islip resident, Norma Downey. To commemorate her milestone birthday, the Symphonic Pops of Long Island performed a special concert at the West Islip Public Library. For many years, Norma volunteered with the Islip Arts Council, and had been an avid supporter of the Metropolitan Opera and American Ballet Theater. An enthusiast of the performing arts, she spent hours attending concerts held by the Islip Arts Council, the Senior Pops of Long Island, Massapequa Philharmonic and shows On and Off Broadway.
May 25th, 2022 – Hundreds of residents turned out for the Town of Islip's 1st Annual Festival on the Fairway, Bringing Country Back to the Country Club at the Holbrook Country Club.
May 24th, 2022 – Islip High School students and teachers recently collected new and gently used prom dresses and formalwear, and donated the merchandise to the Town of Islip Youth Bureau, just in time for the 2022 prom season.
May 13th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter had the honor of throwing out the first pitch for the opening game of the Suffolk County Town Senior Softball League. The call to “play ball” marks the first time Islip 60+ Buccaneers Softball Club players will step onto the diamond for league play.
