A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

November 15th, 2019 Bayview Elementary School Principal John Mullins and staff welcomed 40 Veterans and Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter, to their November 8th Veterans Day celebration and breakfast.

The Veterans names and their military backgrounds were announced before an audience of more than 400 students, staff and district administrators. In advance of the celebration, the building was decorated with students' artwork along with a military "Wall of Heroes" photo display of family members having connections to Bayview Elementary. Students spent time writing letters of gratitude and appreciation that were hung throughout the school.

"This was a beautiful ceremony celebrating all Veterans, and those Veterans with children at Bayview Elementary. To see the gratitude and appreciation of our active and retired military through the eyes of young elementary school students was very moving," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
