A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

May 3rd, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with Girl Scout Junior Troop 230, 4th & 5th grade girls at Brettonwoods Elementary School, who are writing a book as part of their Bronze Award project. The students' project features women within the community who serve in roles traditionally held by men. As the first woman supervisor in the Town of Islip's history, the students selected Supervisor Angie Carpenter to be a part of their book documenting her milestone achievement.

“It's a privilege to have been considered for the book Troop 230 is preparing for their Bronze Award project. The decision to dedicate their project to highlighting women's achievements in our community is truly inspiring," said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

The Girl Scouts Bronze Award is the highest award available to Junior scouts who have completed their Junior Journey. To obtain the award, Troop members demonstrate their leadership skills by working together to plan, implement, and execute their chosen project aiming to address a community matter.

Also featured in the book, Supreme Court Justice Alison J. Napolitano. A copy of the book will be made available in Hauppauge’s three Elementary School libraries.
