June 20th,2019 – The Islip Town Board authorized the demolition of a residential garage in West Islip, after a Town building inspector deemed the structure to be unsafe, unsound, a hazard, and in danger of collapse.

"These types of vacant structures are dangerous and bring down property values in our communities. We will continue to do our part to maintain a quality of life for all in the Town of Islip," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

Town board passed the resolution in September, 2018.
