A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

"Although COVID is still a factor in our lives, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am delighted that we are able to gather together safely today and recognize our Irish culture, and am hopeful that next year, we will once again resume our community parades and festivities," said the Supervisor.

Town officials presented the Ancient Order of Hibernians with a Citation recognizing the Town's Irish American heritage.

Joining Supervisor Carpenter were Tom McHugh, President, East Islip AOH; Vick Vogel, Past President, East Islip AOH; Islip Councilman John Cochrane, Jr.; Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen; Councilman James O'Connor; Tracey Krut, Chief of Staff, Town of Islip; Deirdre Whalberg, Deputy Commissioner, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and staff, and bagpipes, courtesy of Meagan Ulrich.
