A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

The Suffolk County Police Department is urging all Suffolk County residents to not use fireworks this Fourth of July and to instead celebrate our nation's birth by attending only those fireworks displays conducted by professionals.

Fireworks may appear fun and harmless, but THEY ARE ILLEGAL and unfortunately all too often they cause serious injury or fires. Be on the right side of the law and attend a public fireworks display. This will help make it a safe and enjoyable Independence Day for you, your loved ones, and your neighbors.

Additionally, improperly stored fireworks pose a significant danger to life and property.

Please review the short video below to see the dangers of improperly stored fireworks.

If you are aware of someone selling fireworks in your community, please let us know. By working together we can make communities in Suffolk County safer.
