April 18th, 2019– The Town of Islip Department of Public Safety annual vehicle and equipment auction was a huge success, with more than 300 pieces sold. Two boats, three street sweepers and a 2012 Nissan Rogue were among the items sold.

April 17th, 2019– Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Town Board conducted the annual Town of Islip Student Achievement Awards Night, honoring students nominated from districts throughout the Town
April 15th, 2019– Dozens turned out to raise money and awareness for Suffolk AHRC at the Town of Islip/AHRC Suffolk Polar Bear Splash Saturday.
April 15th, 2019 – The community of West Islip turned out to support its Little League teams during Opening Day ceremonies Saturday. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined at the ceremony by Town Councilmen John Cochrane, Jim O'Connor, Suffolk County Legislator Steve Flotteron and members of the American Legion. Parents, coaches, and program supporters joined in the festivities.
April 11th, 2019- Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. joined with Mr. and Mrs. Eduardo and Juliana King, the parents of fallen Army Specialist Jose L. Ruiz, at the dedication of the Brentwood Post Office in memory of their son, who was killed in action in 2005.
April 9th, 2019 – Islip Town Councilman John Cochrane joined Tim Mare, Director, Town of Islip Youth Bureau and members of the West Islip Girl Scouts, for the “Hop to Action for Easter” basket making event at the Manetuck Elementary School in West Islip. The colorful baskets will be donated to the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk County (VIBS).
April 8th, 2019- The Bay Shore-Brightwaters Little League Parade and Opening Day Ceremony took place recently. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilman John Cochrane, Recreation and Parks Commissioner Tom Owens, proud parents and members of the community turned out for the event.
