June 6th, 2019– Angie Carpenter, Islip Town Supervisor hosted the Town's Office of Economic Development, Executive Director, William Mannix, during a recent taping of the "Supervisor Spotlight" radio show.
June 4th, 2019– Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter welcomed students to Town Hall as part of the annual Elks’ Youth in Government Day visit. A total of 21 students in 6th and 7th grade from East Islip Middle School and St. Mary’s School took part, visiting the WRAP Recycling Center and the Shellfish Culture Facility.
May 29th,2019– Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. recently met with Nassau County American Legion Member and Past-Commander, Edward G. Aulman and Former Suffolk County VFW Commander and VFW Brentwood Commander, Sabrina Lacey, at Cablevison’s Hauppauge studio, during a taping of the United Veterans Organization of Nassau County’s Veteran’s News.
May 28th, 2019 – Taps played in the background, as eight West Islip High School graduates were remembered for their sacrifice at a Vietnam Memorial dedicated on school grounds in their honor.
May 28th, 2019– The East Islip, Islip Memorial Day Parade ended with a touching service at the Veterans Memorial Park at Islip Town Hall Monday.
May 28th, 2019– Hundreds lined the parade route under bright blue skies Monday, for the 65th Annual West Islip American Legion Post 1738 Memorial Day Parade.
The Legion’s float celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion. The West Islip High School Marching Band was outstanding, and Taps was beautifully performed by Ryan. All joined in recognizing John, a special WWII Veteran.
May 22nd, 2019– The hamlet of Sayville welcomed new business Free Spirits Yoga on Main St. to the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony recently.
