June 20th,2019 – Islip Town Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen had the pleasure of recognizing the Bayport-Blue Point Women's Varsity Lacrosse team, which includes her daughter, on their recent Suffolk County Class C Title win. The recognition took place during the June Town Board meeting.
June 17th, 2019– A total of more than 50 sunscreen dispensaries have been installed at Islip and Babylon Town parks and beaches thanks to a partnership with Southside Hospital Northwell Health.
June 14th, 2019 – Islip Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. recently visited Gardiner County Park in West Bay Shore, to rally in support for the 3rd Annual Dog Tag Run hosted by Mission 22. The 2.2 mile run/walk is an annual event that aims to combat Veteran suicide and raise awareness of Veterans’ PTSD issues.
June 13th, 2019– Boy Scout Troop 205 conducted a flag raising at the grand re-opening and ribbon cutting of McDonald's on Sunrise Highway in Oakdale.
Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilmen John Cochrane and Jim O'Connor joined with members of the community at the event.
June 13th,2019 – The Town of Islip continued its year-long 335 birthday celebration with a Living History Day at the Islip Grange in Sayville.
The history of Islip came to life Saturday through historical documents, re-enactments, encampments, interactive programs and tours, and participants in period costumes, all under bright sunny skies.
June 13th,2019 – The Brentwood UFSD hosted their My Brother's Keeper Program Empowerment Brunch this weekend. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter attended the event, which celebrated students' achievements as a result of participation in the MBK program.
