May 9th, 2019– Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Councilman John Cochrane attended the Steel Topping Out and Beam Signing Ceremony at the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Navy Seal Museum and Sea Cadet Training Facility this week.
May 8th, 2019– Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter participated in a recent Keep Islip Clean community event, attended by KIC Executive Director Nancy Cochran and local volunteers. The clean-up took place at Ross Park in Brentwood. This year, KIC celebrates 30 years of keeping Islip clean!
May 6th, 2019 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today to announce the Suffolk County Office for the Aging will be on the receiving end of an additional $2.5 million dollars in State funding that was secured in the 2019 State Budget.
May 3rd, 2019– The Town of Islip Public Safety Division is currently conducting its second Peace Officer Academy. The academy consists of Narcan training, classroom instruction in law, ethics, communication, daily defensive tactics, physical training, CPR and First Aid.
May 3rd, 2019- Town of Islip DPW crews recently began prepping Brookwood Hall Park in East Islip for the installation of new playground equipment. The park, a toddler favorite, will receive two bounce toys, swings, an inclusive spinner and a seesaw.
May 1st, 2019 – Frontier Airlines launched new nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham International Airport from Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma. Angie Carpenter, Islip Town Supervisor, and Shelley LaRose-Arken, Airport Commissioner, joined elected officials, business leaders, and local tourism stakeholders to celebrate the new nonstop, the first of its kind from MacArthur Airport, (ISP) to the rapidly growing region of Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
