ISLIP, NY – January 15th, 2026 - Islip Town Board held its annual organizational meeting to discuss and approve the scheduling of meetings for the Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Town Board for the year ahead. The meeting was attended by multiple Town and New York State government officials, underscoring the importance of establishing the Town’s operational framework for 2026.

During the meeting chaired by Supervisor Angie Carpenter, the Town Board reviewed and adopted the official calendar of meetings for the remainder of the year. The Board also confirmed several key appointments, including the first appointments of Councilwoman DawnMarie D. Kuhn to join fellow board members, Jorge Guadron, Michael J. McElwee, Jr. and John M. Lorenzo to serve on multiple Town entities, including the Industrial Development Agency Board, the Economic Development Corporation Board, and the Foreign Trade Zone Authority Board.

These organizational actions help ensure continuity, transparency, and effective governance as the Town of Islip begins the new calendar year.
