August 13th, 2019 – Islip Town officials were on hand for the demolition of a “zombie” property on Middle Rd. in Bayport Monday morning. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Board Member Mary Kate Mullen were joined by crews from Panzer Demolition who conducted the razing at 637 Middle Rd. in Bayport.
The Town Board unanimously passed a resolution in August, 2018 to raze the house and accessory structure, which had been vacant for more than a decade, and deemed unsafe by the Town of Islip Fire Marshals office.
“A property like this that’s been abandoned and not cared for, brings down property values in a community, and no one wants to see that happen,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “We will continue to do our part to maintain a quality of life for everyone in the Town of Islip,” the Supervisor added.
