August 17th, 2018 – Roberto Clemente Pool located on Broadway Avenue in Brentwood, will be open for swimming Saturday, August 18th through Sunday, August 26th, from 10:30 am – 6:15 pm.

Additional Hours Below:

  • Aug. 27th – Aug. 31st: 11:00 am - 4:45 pm
  • Sept. 1st – Sept. 2nd: 11:00 am - 5:45 pm
  • Sept. 3rd (Labor Day): 11:00 am - 4:45 pm

Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Event

August 9th, 2018 – Join us on Saturday, August 18th for our annual 2018 "Clear the Shelters" pet adoption event in conjunction with NBC Universal and Telemundo, at the Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center. Come fall in love with any of the 25 cats/kittens, 61 dogs, 5 rabbits, or pair-bonded guinea pigs, and bring them home at reduced cost adoption fees.

Islip Summer Fun Series - "Sing" at Talent Show

August 16th, 2018 – Enter the mini talent show and show off your skills at the Islip Summer Fun Series, this Monday, August 20th. Join us at Casamento Park in West Islip and show off your special talent, take part in karaoke, or enjoy plenty of games and crafts. Food trucks will be ready to take your orders starting at 5 pm. Stay until dark for the nighttime showing of the 2016 family-comedy "Sing." Admission is FREE!

The Beach Closure Issued for West Oaks Recreation Club Beach Has Been Lifted

August 15th, 2018 – Suffolk County Department of Health Services has announced that the beach closure issued for West Oaks Recreation Club Beach, in the Town of Islip, has been lifted, as results of recent samples show the water quality to be within acceptable levels. Twenty-five beaches remain closed to bathing following continued heavy rainfall producing bacteria levels that exceeding acceptable criteria. Please review the list of closed beaches below:
