April 1 - April 30. Earth Day Poster Contest. Design a poster illustrating what Earth Day, Every Day means to you. Entries open to all school-aged children. Deadline Friday, April 30th. Saturday, April 10. Greater Sayville Civic Association continues its bi-monthly cleanup of the community. Meet at the corner of Lakeland Avenue and 11th Street, Sayville. 10am - 11am.

Sunday, April 11. Spur Drive North Cleanup. Meet at the corner of Spur Drive North and Broadway, Brentwood. This is the latest in a long series of cleanups along Spur Drive North and South. 9am - 12pm.

Saturday, April 24. Islip Main Street Cleanup. Join other volunteers to tidy up Islip's charming Main Street for all residents to enjoy. Meet at the Chase Bank parking lot at 556 Main Street, Islip. 9am - 11am.

Sunday, April 25. Oakdale Montauk Highway Cleanup. Meet at Lighthouse Commons, 891 Montauk Highway, Oakdale. Enter parking lot at the light, turn right and park next to Chase Bank. 9:30am - 11:30am.
