October 18th, 2019 – This coming week is the start of the Town’s Fall Unlimited Yard Waste Collection. The program will run for 8 weeks from October 21st through December 14th. During this period, yard waste be collected separately from regular garbage. Please refer to your seasonal mailing card or the Town’s Informational Dashboard for your fall yard waste collection day and eligibility requirements.
October 17th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Town Board invited all employees to wear pink recently to shine a spotlight on breast cancer research. A $5 donation enabled employees to also wear jeans to work for the day.
October 11th, 2019 – Town of Islip DPW crews have been working around the clock to mitigate coastal flooding caused by the recent storm system that swept through the area. All storm-related equipment is being utilized until the flood waters recede.
October 10th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Rep. Peter King, Co-Chair of the newly formed Congressional Caucus to End the Youth Vaping Epidemic, Islip Town Board members John Cochrane and Mary Kate Mullen, Islip Town officials, and representatives from the technology industry, at a press conference Wednesday to address growing concerns over the vaping public health crisis.
