\n\nOne of
our community’s greatest strengths is the rich and diverse backgrounds of
all our residents who call Islip their home. We are a melting pot of cultu
res\, religions and languages. To celebrate this\, our Town of Islip Unity
Council (the rebranded Anti-Bias Task Force) is comprised of community le
aders from many backgrounds across the Town including: religious leaders\;
school officials\; hospital officials\; non-profit directors\, as well as
elected officials. \n
\nThis council meets periodically during the
year to discuss how to engage with the community and local leaders in an
effort to promote unity and solidarity—not in spite of our differences\, b
ut in celebration of them. \n
\nPlease join Town of Islip Superviso
r\, Angie Carpenter\, the Islip Town Board\, and the community\, for the T
own of Islip Unity Council's inaugural Unity Ceremony\, to be hosted at To
wn Hall West on Friday\, January 27th at 12:00 no
on. \n
\nThis gathering will bring together our Town’s com
munity and religious leaders with elected officials—no matter their politi
cal affiliation—and it will serve to jumpstart communications on how all c
an work together for the benefit of everyone. \n
\nAll are welcome
to attend. Please see the flyer below. \n\n
