Since 2010, the Saturday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday has been dedicated, "Small Business Saturday" in an effort to help boost local economies and preserve the businesses that bring charm, identity and prosperity to communities.

According to the US Small Business Administration, small businesses are responsible for 62% of net new jobs created since 1995, representing 99.7% of firms with paid employees. Now more than ever, these businesses need our support.

With the official start of the holiday season just days away, Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board are encouraging everyone to join in supporting small local businesses, by kicking-off their holiday shopping Saturday, November 25th in their neighborhood downtown.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our Town, providing jobs, adding value, and helping to define the communities we call home.” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. "In Islip Town, we are so fortunate to have a variety of shops and restaurants who enrich our community by making it their home. Do your part to help these local merchants thrive by shopping small during the 2023 holiday season, and continue to shop locally throughout the year,” added the Supervisor.

Join the Town of Islip's more than 330,000 residents on Saturday, November 25th for Small Business Saturday and Shop Small!
