"Today we recognize and celebrate all of the wonderful cultures that make our Town so special and unique," said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter. "As is true of the country, the Town of Islip is made strong by the individuality and diverse traditions of its people. We are a melting pot of cultures, religions and languages," said Supervisor Carpenter.

The event was created by the Town of Islip Unity Council in conjunction with the Town's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, and sponsored by South Shore University Hospital/Northwell Health and Good Samaritan University Hospital, a member of Catholic Health. Joining the Supervisor were members of the Islip Town Board; local elected officials; Town Public Safety officials and staff from Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.

"Thank you to our dedicated Town employees, and to the members of the Unity Council, for organizing such a meaningful event," said the Supervisor. "We look forward to growing Unity in the Community bigger and better each year."
